Story part 1

Path to glory – Atina’s life consist of outplaying her opponents. She’s a highly competitive individual since young age. Her medium is Maglev Hockey, a futuristic magnet based hockey game.
Atina is currently the best player in Maglev hockey, she has captured the attention and funding of many, making the sport peak in viewership. In simple words, her participation revolutionized the newfound sport.
Atina was tired of the life she had up to this point, it always felt limiting, how her body worked was limiting to her, she would have days where she didn’t feel like doing anything and that was a result of the common dopamine overdose experienced by people like her, most of the Mars population. She ever dreamed of having a full control of how she feels and how her body operates. Transformation was always part of her life and she seeks new boundaries.
Atina also experiences early symptoms of Reality Dissonance Disease which comes when a non-modified human is spending too much time into Immersed Reality Simulations as the ones she uses to practice for her play performance. There are various treatments for RDD but they all numb down the user in the long term either in their actual or immersed reality experience.
Atina has intel that going through a full Trans-human transformation helps with relieving the symptoms sometimes completely making them disappear. (Source: Carlo, her inside friend that works at Sepukku Plaza)
Whilist exploring the capabilities of her new body, Atina discovers her apetite for power and starts looking for mentors to help her discover new horizons.
Her personal connection to power comes from her drive for winning all sport competitions, without this drive she wouldn’t be where she is now and even though she has the option to regulate it, it is so ingrained to her personality, it is an essential part of who she is.
Atina has a close associates of trusted friends with whom she has conspired a heist plan of stealing the bodysuit she uses to participate in the Maglev Hockey championships. This bodysuit is equipped with the latest gen cybernetics and is essentially a body vessel which requires its specific user to undergo through a special mind transportation that leaves their original body in a coma. This heist would be a one way trip for her as going back to her original body will not be possible once she becomes a criminal.

Her own lover – Nico is involved in this operation as the lead netrunner.
Atina and her team arrive in a flying vehicle and land on an air parking lot where theres a crowd gathered.
Atina steps out of the vehicle and everyone is excited to see their favourite team, papparazi included, all lifeforms present, AI and biological. There are lights everywhere and the excitement is overboard, overwhelming almost.
Atina is walking towards the entrance of the stadium, waving at the crowd with a smile. Blowing them a kiss.
A colleague of hers – Mantis makes a remark regarding her attitude “Aren’t you a little lemon burried in the ground?” to which Atina nods off “You have no idea.”
Two of her teammates comment on the situation far behind Atina where she cannot hear them. “What an attention w-“
The team’s coach walking most ahead of them approaches Atina with a positive cheerful attitude. “Excellent, I see you’re present and ready to show them again the skill of a Nano Nova Nomad!” Atina still waving at the crowd, smiles at the coach “And here I was thinking that winning 6 times in a row was gonna destroy any doubts you had about it!”

Coach Niks explained further “I see you’re MAC analysing me, there is a doubt indeed, it comes from the intel I got an hour ago. My boy at Ketlog enlightened me a bit about our opponents – their vanguard Astrid, she’s grown more in the eyes of the Dy-t, perhaps more than you have. I suggest we continue this conversation inside…”

They walk inside of stadium where they are met by the VIP guests, members of the players families. Seeing her mother greet her by herself, Atina expressed a face of disappointment badly masked with a smile “Don’t tell me… He couldn’t find a replacement? Any solution? Anything? Today?”. Her mother assured her “He said he will be here before the game starts, there are still some hours until then.”. Atina, dissatisfied with the answer said “He better, last time he missed it, and this time … could be the last time!” Her mother saw what appeared to be newfound doubt in her daughter “Don’t talk like that, you are the best! Nothing stops you, you’re a prodigy!”
Atina exchanged some pleasantries with her friends families, she had some close friends within some team members and some not so much.
Nico was not there, not physically at least, albeit that Atina felt his presence the most. “How’s it going, busy hour, sun is up high… it shines.” Atina spoke into the air. In her earpiece a voice replied “ Sun shines bright sky is clear, my work is at pace, busy, not as much as you will be soon enough, ha. “ a short pause occurred in which Atina found the liberty to look around, she noticed the a maintenance worker coming from a door in the deep end of the giant room ,the earpiece buzzed“ My links are light blue, connections are complete”, “Great” Atina responded “I will settle in, talk soon”.
Alva came up to Atina with a hand around her shoulder “ Hey babe, I’d like you to meet somebody, my brother Sven” And as soon as that sentence ended a figure approached them introducing themselves with the name mentioned by Alva. “I’m a huge fan, I’ve heard so many great things” Atina could immediately pick up on the nervousness of the boy “and the transformation you went through!” She could sense the admiration which was the root of that nervousness, this put her in a bit of a conflict. “I’ve always wanted to be like you but- “ Alva interrupted Sven “Okaaay I think that’s enough, Atina is my friend, you don’t need to glorify her, we all are equally responsible for our presence here, she’s worked hard Sven, you don’t get that, do you? Hell I’ve worked hard as much and yet you were too busy in your own digiworld to see that…” . Atina felt like she became a part of a family dispute “Look guys, Sven, it was nice to meet you, your sister’s right, don’t look up to me so much, you don’t really know me. Now I have to catch some info on my game before it starts.” Atina put her hand on Alva’s shoulder “Meet-up in 30, tell the rest.” Alva laughed “Who made you a team captain now?”Atina was a bit too lost in her own glory to reflect on that last part and she parted with the 2 siblings, going towards the end of the room.
Her path gets crossed by a figure dressed in clothing that is stylish, out-of-this century, yet sophisticated and intricate enough to catch the eye of a Dy-t . This figure Atina knew as Shokujo, the personal stylist for many of the high end celebrities. “The web is booming, what are you wearing!? Is it a statement! It better be, or else you’ve lost it! I am excited equally enough! Should we prepare something unique for the presentation as well? Ideas are pouring in already!!!”.Atina met Shokujo’s enthusiasm with a big smile “You know, I did think of you when I was getting ready to come here, “What would Shokujo think?Will they get it?” Hah, putting clothes on reveals more about me to you than talking.” Shokujo nodded with a look so fixated on Atina’s outfit, already planning in their head how would the bodysuit look like. Then they added enthusiastically but with a bit more concern this time “ I get it you also heard of the Astrid fever. I get the news as fast as you people… that must explain the gloomy tone”. But Atina had not heard of that until some minutes ago, no in fact there was something else going on, luckily misguiding Shokujo’s suspicion. “Bullish way of hyping themselves up, that doesn’t change anything in the long term, maybe we can surprise them with a show, get the crowd on their feet” Atina added “Now I was going to check on my bodysuit, I am eager to see it.”. Shokujo was back in full enthusiasm mode, they said something about checking on the others and parted ways with Atina.
Atina headed towards the room where the bodysuits of the Maglev Hockey players stood. Before entering the room there was an inspection both from an AI and Person. Atina shut off her earpiece so that no frequency lanes will be transmitted during the check. Once the check complete, she walked into a room equally as big as the previous one, except bearing the design of a warehouse, you could even see the giant gravitypods that brought the bodysuit chambers to the arena. The bodysuits had to be kept in specially designed chambers that would maximize their security and preserve them best. Naturally this high end technology had maximum security localized, there were so many guards in this part of the arena that if someone were to have no idea what they are guarding, they would assume it was the president. Atina gets to see this view annualy, this being the 7th time “Let’s hope it’s my lucky number” She thought to herself as the view was getting heavy, almost making her change her mind. Her eyes were scanning the area as if she were a rabbit in a carnivore dome. All the weaponry held by these individuals, all the advanced AI defence patrolbots walking around. She was almost getting sweaty, but then she saw it. A chamber in the middle of the room with the inscription “ Mark 5 “ suddenly a wave of comfort and reassurance went over her, like a warm breeze it made her feel a bit more like herself. She made her way on to the familiar chamber, eyes fixated on it.
Off course she felt it before it happened, someone came up to her, interrupting her path of reunion once again, this time it was an armed person, they had a curved smooth handgun in their holster, it was a stun gun. The uniform of the person indicated that they must be of higher authority among the others, the lack of a bigger gun suggested that this person was an intermediate of the law. The woman approached Atina intercepting her path with a greeting “Hello there, this is a no-go zone, may I ask why you are here?”. Atina looked at the woman, thinking that she might be new and not properly updated on authority access. “Uhm, I am Atina, the player that uses this bodysuit.” She pointed towards the chamber. The woman smiled “I know who you are Atina, my daughter is a big fan of yours, but look, we have been instructed to have no one near the bodysuits before synchronization practise.” Atina quickly interrupted with “ I just want to see it”. The authority figure sighed “Lucky you got a fangirl at home, I’m giving you 2 minutes then I don’t want to see you here!”. Atina thought to herself “So many wins and I only get 2 minutes? Pff” as she made her way to the chamber, this time finally reaching it uninterrupted. She looked at the body with sort of an admiration but also reassurance. She felt so connected to this synthetical vessel, putting hand on the chamber glass already releases a heap of dopamine. Atina used this new surge of energy to get back to her senses and plan. She made full use of the 2 minutes and went towards the exit of the room.
Atina sees coach Niks in the prep room talking with some fellow Nova nomads. There are about 5 of them inside but Gloria was also there, if Niks were to disclose the news about Astrid in front of Gloria, she would sure find time to pick on Atina about it. Doesn’t matter in the long term, if all goes to plan, she wouldn’t have to see Gloria’s face again, non of their faces for that matter, she had seen those faces for so long she grew tired of them. Atina decided to spare herself some drama, whatever the situation with Astrid is doesn’t matter for Atina’s plan and the worst that could happen is for her to get distracted enough and slip up resulting in a destiny much worse than anyone here can think of her. This plan is not supposed to fail and the necessary precautions were taken in order for maximum success, hell even some high end MAC calcs were used to verify the plan’s outcome. Nico plays a big part in all of this, if he were to fail at any point of the plan it would also go wrong, so so wrong. Nico! She must find some busy area to establish a safe connection with him.
Atina finds herself in the all star VIP lounge, the room has an intricate and high class design, specifically for this event, it featured some exotic architecture and imported plants that Atina herself has not seen before. Her dark figure stood out in the corner of the room as everyone had a bright attention seeking outfit, in a way she stood out instead. She met the looks of some people but luckily enough the visitors have been distracted by their own digiworlds, a lot of steaks were weighted on this ma tch and a lot of these people had their hands dipped in the honey pot. She found herself a seat alongside the bar and gave the bartender a signal. A tall colourful glass came up from the small circular opening on the bar in front of her, the glass was shaped like a half moon with a complimentary small crezz inside instead of an umbrella. Now she was blending a bit more with the crowd but enough to try to reconnect with Nico. She tapped her earpiece on and dialled the correct frequency lane “I’ve got a moon moon drink” said Atina while taking a sip. From within the earpiece came Nico’s voice “In the middle of the day? Sheesh, what bothers?” Atina looked around, mostly at the reflective surfaces of the objects in the bar, looking around herself “ They didn’t let me early access, not before sync-prac.” Nico reassured her “Alright alright, it’s no big deal, the sun will still shine by then”. Atina experienced again a strain of doubt “What If I get sunscreened?”. Nico again reassured her “Yeah, well at some point you wont, that’s the rules of the game, otherwise no game.” Atina took another sip this time staring blankly ahead of herself “The sun shining on stage? Mmm… Mad, mad.” “Mad enough even for you? Maybe if you keep drinking that moon moon juice.” Nico noted and added “Im’ma let the sunrays know.” Atina said a quick goodbye to which she turned off the earpiece, her vision was focused on the reflection of the bottle ahead, in that reflection stood Astrid.
Atina approached Astrid. Astrid was hard to approach, an emerging prodigy, apparently good enough to rival Atina in the eyes of the Dy-T. It’s true shes a trailblazer with her aggressive tactits, copycats sprawling everywhere, how disgusting, or was it jealousy? And everyone from the corpos there that could levitate their attention elsewhere than their own ass would be setting eyes on her, their new currency- Astrid. It was childish, this emotion that was taking place in Atina’s body. And she felt it then, the limits of her human body, the nature of her soul and emotions. Something she had complete control of inside the bodysuit, now taking a raw stance inside of her. “Atiiiina! The champion, the star, ever shining, perhaps? You… don’t seem to glow too much right now though.” Astrid had noticed Atina’s approach and took the initiative, Atina was having non of it though “Spare me the pleasantries, I get enough of them already, you’ll get used to it.”. Astrid took another look at Atina’s outfit and it almost passed too long before she decided whether to make another snarky remark or what it would be about. “You know I give you credit for at least standing out, I personally don’t know any other winner that has the audacity to approach their tribute with a tone of death.” Atina scoffed “Look I’m not here for your funeral, as long as you don’t stand in my way. I’m curious, what is in it for you?” Now her tone changed to a more intrigued one “ What makes you so special?” Astrid, a bit surprised, might’ve expected that one “I don’t think I’m all that special Atina, look, I am quite regular, just really good at what I’m doing, I don’t spend countless hours practising like you, I actually get to spend time doing other stuff too.” Atina almost took it as another one of Astrid’s underlying condescending messages but she waited to see what else she has to say – “It comes quite naturally to me what I’m doing, for me the position is not really being on the top, it is more like everyone else is incapable of really playing.” Atina made a firm eye contact with Astrid feeling a familiar yet alien nature to her words “We will see about that” she said, sounding so sure almost as if she really had the intent to play the upcoming game.
GAP
“Hey dear, can you tell me my catalogue options again?” said Atina into the earpiece. “Yes ma’am please give us a second and we will get right back to you!” was the reply from within.
Less than a minute passed before the same voice reached back to Atina .“We’ve got 5 minutes to go over things before they pick up this line” explained Nico
With the synchronization practise starting soon, Atina goes over the plan with Nico once again “Okay I need an opening and I think now I should be getting it, sync prac is in 10, I’ll get in and connect to you. I slot the chip in

The synchronization practise starts but the administration decided to keep the ICE at high level on each one of the suits. This upset some of the players as it didn’t allow them to use the bodysuit at its full potential. Atina suffered the most from this, with such a precautions taken from the administration, it would be impossible to connect with Nico without being noticed immediately. Her plan was stalling which further put her at unease.

The ceiling breaks down and 13 terrorists drop down together with 5 chained containers. Right before landing they drop slower, they have anti gravity shoes. The silence was immediate after their impact and not long after they started running towards the players.
Atina was phased at what just happened and with a quick jolt goes after her crezz.
Her crezz is located in the middle of the arena and without the maglev field activated it takes her too long to get there.
She gets interrupted by a chain flying in front of her. She dodges the chain.
The chain wielder then makes a quick turn of hand which wraps Atina’s legs, pulling her towards the terrorist.
Alva sees this and quickly makes a run to help Atina. The terrorist shoots a second bolt into the ground and then takes an aim at Alva, shooting the gun in her direction.
Alva already seen what happened to Atina expects this and has calculated a counter-move which lets her evade the attack of the terrorist.
In a typical game of MAC chess, this was expected by the terrorist, in fact, their weapon is designed so as the third bolt is fired the chain gun pulls the user with its inertia force, which send the terrorist flying in Alva’s direction.
Alva is struck, not capable to predict this, she falls to the ground after a hard hit, as she lifts her head she sees there’s a chain already wrapped around her legs.
With both Alva and Atina chained, the terrorist makes a run for the container. Once they reach it they grab a chain from inside and head towards the direction of the girls.
While this is happening the other terrorists try to capture the rest of the players.
Although everyone is uniquely in a difficult situation, Astrid sees what is happening to Atina and Alva. She makes a run towards their direction.
Another terrorist sees this and tries interrupt her but is being blocked by a teammate of Astrid’s.
Astrid manages to catch her crezz on the way but she won’t make it.
Atina meanwhile urges Nico to bypass the ICE and activate the maglev field.
With the security of the Arena busy with the attack, Nico manages to bypass them and activate the field generator.
Now Astrid can slide on top of the field with no friction which means she goes to save Atina and Alva in no time.
Turning on the field distracts briefly the terrorist which gives Astrid an opening to dash into them and strike them with the crezz. Astrid uses all her force when she does this which absolutely obliterates the terrorist’s head.
She then dashes towards the bolt that’s holding the chain attached to Atina and Alva and slams dunks the point where the bolt and chain connect.
The bolt stays intact and Astrid’s crezz bents a bit.
Both Atina and Astrid are amazed at this.
Another terrorist comes besides them and says “Asteroid bolts baby.” After which they pull out an expanding stick and launch themselves towards Astrid.
This breaks out in a close combat fight with long melee weapons which Astrid is not trained for. She quickly starts adapting though.
Meanwhile Atina crouches, her legs being tied one to another and pushes herself towards Alva. With the field on, it takes her no effort to do this as she is essentially levitating.
Atina props a plan to Alva. She tells Alva to push her with all her force towards Astrid and the terrorist.
Alva pushes Atina and with both of them being chained to the ground and the maglev field on, it results in both of them gaining momentum in opposite direction, the chain link forces them to form a circle of movement in the direction of Astrid.
This catches the terrorist by surprise as the chain now is wrapping around their legs.
Astrid makes use of the moment and tackles down the terrorist.
At this point it was getting clear to the maglev players that they stand a high chance against these terrorists, after all the players are equipped with very high grade bodysuits which give them immense physical and mental power.
All players started to go more bravely against the terrorist.
The arena guards were also trying to make their way into the field, but the entrance platform was hacked and thus inaccessible to them, and since the arena’s enclosed design, it was impossible for them to enter otherwise.
Atina gets the idea of breaking her shoes as there is liquid nitrogen stored in them, used for cooling down the superconductors. Doing this will disable her ability to slide in the field, making any escape harder. Her own plan of getting away wouldn’t work. But if she stays tied she wouldn’t be able to get anywhere either.
Atina takes a moment to rethink her options, using the macsuit’s calculating powers she estimates the different possibilities and outcomes of the choices she has ahead of herself. The arena is activated and there is a hole in the ceiling, the best thing to do is have the option to use the levitating power and speed of the shoes to go out through that hole. In order to do that she has to get free, but she can’t get free without using the nitrogen to cool down the chain bolt and destroy it. She could ask Alva to break her own shoe for both of them to escape, but then it would be a bit of a selfish move, this will leave Alva vulnerable to whatever these terrorist have planned for her.
“Seriously though, why are they here at this moment? This never happens, ever. What are the chances they decided to do a heist with a similar purpose? Could Nico be involved ?” Atina thought to herself.

Si’rak goes with the deuscodians on a mission to steal Atina’s dataprofile( among others) from the Sepukku plaza. Whilst the heist is going, Atina gets notified and called in for backup by Carlo . Atina goes back in just in time to intercept Si’rak as he is getting away. They have a 1v1 fight on some building top before the deuscodians come to back-up Si’rak. They decide to try and snatch Atina but after seeing they don’t have the necessary manpower for that they run away. Atina manages to damage their flying transport and it goes down into a neighbourhood in the outskirts.

Miss Arte gets assigned with finding Si’rak and the missing dataprofile. She gets her pack ready and heads in.

Atina heads to the crash site to look for Si’rak herself. She gets warned by Pico about the state of the crash site, the place is tension filled as there are clashes of outsiders (NeoTraditionalists) in that area. Atina finds something to get herself undercover

Atina chases down Si’rak into a tight street called Crimson. There they engage in an argument with Atina insisting on getting her dataprofile back but Si’rak refusing. As they are arguing a bunch of drone ravens start gattering around em. At some point Atina realizes that something is off about these drone ravens and she decides to destroy one of them. The others get upset and start spewing some stuff about destruction and curiousity. The ravens start becoming more and more and when Atina attacks another one they all start buzzing around her and Si’rak forming a tornado. The drone ravens then start going towards the middle of this tornado. While flying inbetween Si’rak and Atina they damage them and start forming a figure. The drones start collapsing around both characters’s necks forming hands. This chaos ends with the RVN formed in the middle between both Si’rak and Atina and holding them in the air by their necks.

Si’rak and Atina fight off RVN long enough for Miss Arte to show up. The confrontation results in Miss Arte being bested by the RVN and Si’rak escaping. The RVN confronts Atina about her path for power, offering her unseen limits before anyone else. The RVN offers Atina a path to beat the best as he himself has done in the past. Atina is left by the RVN as the backup of miss Arte arrives.

Atina gets tricked into meeting the Si’rak(s). She is supposed to head to a certain place, in the outskirts of the city, where she gets abducted in a special blanket that stops all signals coming from and to her from the outside. She tries fighting back but suddenly she becomes immobile as an EMP hits her body. She gets dragged to a place using a van . She eventually finds herself in some mysterious but also quite empty space, tied to the ground with steel ropes.

The perpetuators are right there as they remove the blanket from Atina’s face. They are 3 humanoid looking robots. They disclose that she can’t be tracked to this place and shouldn’t rely on outside intervention. She questions them what do they want and who do they work for. They reply that the purpose of this meeting is finding out where Si’rak went after their confrontation, as he plainly disappeared. Atina says she doesn’t know, that he ran away. They also add that they don’t work for anyone besides themselves. Atina asks them if they are AI? They hand over the topic to the 7th Si’rak.

Atina meets 3 Si’rak(s) – the 7th, 24th and 99th . She has a small chat with them, each learning about the other. Atina shares about her RDD and how ridiculous it is that it is still there after her transhuman operation.

The 7th Si’rak offers Atina a proper transhuman ritual which will help her connect to herself better. Atina has a conversation with the 7th and gets convinced in the nature of his words.

After the ritual Atina feels more connected to herself, she can feel more like herself than ever before, even in a human body.

Climax- Atina decides to confront the RVN

She meets the RVN. Asks him about his thing. Why does he do what he do, why should she join him? The RVN speaks to Atina using a single raven drone. He does not fancy any regular conversations especially ones of such unnecessary need. If she questions him then she shouldn’t join him the RVN thought, she’s too immature for what is needed from her.
The RVN initiates Atina in combat to test her determination and skill. After a 5 minute stand off he answers some of her questions before initiating her in combat again. This time he quickly breaks it off before splitting completely and hiding in the surrounding area. Only 1 raven left in the presences. He questions Atina “How do you deal with time?”. She stops amused processing what the bird just asked her. She looks around and then gets hit by something. She turns around but then gets hit again from behind, with every turn she takes another blow. She eventually deals with this challenge to which the RVN forms again (As a monster), Atina much more exhausted now, continues her questioning.
The RVN seeing her weakened state, revealed that he has had Si’rak all this time and in fact her own dataprofile, asking her what is even her purpose if shes so weak, he can make a stronger version of her.
